Boys in China is an 2021 computer-animated science fiction action comedy film directed by Josh Boone. It was produced by Movie Land Animation Studios, Panko and Panda Studios, The Stone Quarry and Atlas Entertainment. The film stars the voice of Michael Dwayne Cohen, Tenzing Norgay Trainor, Robert G. Chiu, Hailee Steinfeld, Zac Efron, Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot, Jamie Chung, Bex Taylor-Klaus and Jamie Foxx.
Boys in China is scheduled to be theatrically released by Warner Bros. Pictures in the United States on February 12, 2021, with a month-long simultaneous streaming release on HBO Max.[1]

Development[]
Planned for an announcement about an untitled Panko and Panda Studios film produced by Movie Land Animation Studios in February 2016, it was announced that Josh Boone was working on a new film. In June 2019, MLAS announced a new film titled Boys in China with Boone directing and Will R. producing, with a synopsis released on Twitter about a cosmic journey through Shanghai, Beijing and Nanjing.
Animation[]
The computer animation services for the film was being done remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic[2] and was provided by Movie Land Digital Production Services in San Francisco, Vancouver, London and Los Angeles with facilities in New York, Atlanta, Montreal, and Singapore.
The film is set in Shanghai, Beijing, Nanjing and San Francisco. To conduct research, the film makers and the production team traveled to all of the abovementioned countries.
Music[]
Henry Jackman, Rupert Gregson-Williams, Tom Holkenborg, Daniel Pemberton and Lorne Balfe were announced as the composer for Boys in China, replacing Patrick Doyle and John Powell.
The album was released on February 9, 2021, by WaterTower Music.
Release[]
Boys in China is scheduled to be released in the United States on February 26, 2021, by Warner Bros. Pictures, in theaters and on HBO Max.[3][1]
