Development[]
In April 2023, it was reported that Joaquim Dos Santos had been hired to direct the film while the screenwriters Rodney Rothman, Nicholas Stoller, and Carlos López Estrada returned from the first film, following the film's box office success, stated that there would be more films based on their properties, though they did not directly confirm a sequel to Fast & Furious Spy Racers. In June 2023, Tyler Posey stated that while news on the sequel would come "soon", development on the project had been put on hold due to the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike, saying that it would only resume once "the writers [felt] comfortable moving forward". In November, it was revealed that Universal was making plans to build a larger franchise around the film while also confirming a sequel. The film was in post-production by February 2024.
Casting[]
On October 2, 2023, while Tyler Posey, Charlet Chung, Jorge Diaz, Camille Ramsey, Luke Youngblood, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Jimmy Tatro, Paul Donald Wight II, Manish Dayal, and Lanny Joon reprised their roles from previous installments, LeBron James and Tony Hale announced to replace Tru Valentino as Gary and Julius, with Seth Rogen, Gemma Chan, Tony Hale, Michael Goldsmith, Kausar Mohammed, Raini Rodriguez, John Krasinski and Adrian Petriw joining the new voice casts. On June 10, 2024, during Cartoon Brew's announcement for Universal to release the teaser trailer on June 12, Eric Bauza joined the voice cast as Woody Woodpecker, reprising his roles from the live-action film series.
Animation[]
Rather than Moving Picture Company and Base FX from the first film due to the box-office failures of the few 2023 films like Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, The Last Voyage of the Demeter, and Strays (also produced by Lord and Miller and distributed by Universal), Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) and DNEG Animation were in talks to handle their animation services for the characters and settings, after doing so for F9 in 2021 and Fast X in 2023, with portions of production done remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic. ILM and DNEG will use the same animation from the first film. Additionally, Fortiche also provided the animation and imagery for the Slo-Mo sequences, producing 1,000 through 6,000 frames per second, using Ametek's Phantom Flex 4K. Woody Woodpecker's animation were also handled by DNEG instead of Cinemotion VFX.
Pre-production, storyboards, and main title design also took place in Movie Land Animation Studios Canada's Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, and Quebec City studio.
Music[]
Henry Jackman, Rupert Gregson-Williams, Lorne Balfe, Brian Tyler, and Tom Holkenborg return to compose the film score, while Don Diablo would co-compose the score with them.
Release[]
Fast & Furious Spy Racers: Part Two is scheduled to be released in the United States on April 4, 2025. It was previously scheduled to be released on May 16, 2025, and then May 2, 2025.

On July 10, 2024, Cartoon Brew unveiled that the teaser trailer is set to be released online on July 12, 2024, and will also set to screen in theaters in front of Twisters a week later.
