Moulin Rouge is an upcoming American computer-animated musical jukebox adventure comedy teen film based on works of its same name. It was directed by Joaquim Dos Santos and produced by Columbia Pictures, Sony Pictures Animation, 1492 Pictures and Overbrook Entertainment in association with Movie Land Animation Studios. The film stars the voice roles of Hugh Jackman, Claire Danes, James Cromwell, Jason Sudeikis, Ken Jeong and William Franklyn-Miller.

The film was premiered in Paris on October 23, 2020 and it was set to be theatrically released on October 30, 2020, after the theatrical release for Connected (as a result of the 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic), by Sony Pictures Releasing in IMAX, RealD 3D, Dolby Cinema and 2D theaters.

Visual effects

The CGI environment, CGI animation, and visual effects were fully provided by Movie Land Digital Production Services, using Pixar RenderMan. The film uses the same CGI animation as Next Gen. It was supervised by William Renschen. 3D visual effects for the film were created by a team of MLDPS artists in San Francisco, Mumbai, Tokyo, Hyderabad, Kuala Lumpur, Vancouver, Singapore, London and Kaohsiung.

Music

The film's music was composed and produced by Henry Jackman, Rupert Gregson-Williams and Justin Bieber. The score was released on October 27, 2020 by Madison Gate Records.

The closing credits song to the film is "Never Say Never", a song written by Adam Messinger, Justin Bieber, Travis Garland, Omarr Rambert, and others, and produced by The Messengers (Adam Messinger and Nasri Atweh). It is performed by Bieber and Jaden Smith.

"Castle On the Hill" by Ed Sheeran was used in the teaser trailer to promote the movie.

Release

Moulin Rouge had a world premiere in Paris on Friday, October 23, 2020 and it will be theatrically released on October 30, 2020.

Marketing

The teaser poster for the film is released on February 6, 2020. The next two weeks, the teaser trailer was released on February 20, 2020 before The Call of the Wild.
