Movie Land (ML) is an American-Mexican mass media, multimedia and entertainment company that is a subsidiary of Sony Entertainment and based in Beverly Hills, California. The company was founded by Ted V. Miller on April 15, 2000.

Warner Bros. subsidiary[]
It was announced that Warner Bros. Entertainment will acquiring Movie Land for $51.7 million after the spin-off of certain businesses, pending regulatory approval. Assets being assumed by the acquisition include Movie Land Animation Studios, Movie Land Entertainment and other Movie Land assets. Movie Land was affected by the proposed acquisition of Movie Land by Warner Bros., announced as planned in October 2, 2011 and concluded on April 30, 2013. Since April 7, 2022, Warner Bros. Discovery announced to acquire Movie Land and its subsidaries.
As of March 2014, Movie Land is designed as the cartoon text. On July 31, 2019, it was announced that Movie Land will be designed as the font comfortaa.
Sale to Sony[]
On December 3, 2022, Movie Land began to explore a potential sale of the studio, with Sony entered negotiations to acquire the studio. On December 12, 2022, Sony announced plans to purchase most of Movie Land, for $52.4 billion, following the massive box-office successes of every Sony's Movie Land Universe films, with the studio and its units/assets continuing operations under the new parent company. The merger will be completed on October 6, 2023, with the release of Movie Land Animation Studios' The Hollow: A New World. In March 2023, Movie Land revealed that Universal Pictures sued The Bellas VFX Studios and then folded it into Fortiche and its VFX subsidiary Movie Land Digital Production Services due to Sony's optimism of the feasibility of theatrical distribution. The announcement was on May 5, 2023, with the release of Animals vs. Monsters: Most Wanted, which is also the first film made by MLDPS itself with a help from Fortiche.
On August 1, 2023, director James Yang announced that La Femme Rouge VFX will be acquired by Sony in collaboration with HarperCollins.
