Noodle and Bun is a 2022 American live-action/animated adventure comedy film based on the series of short of the same name. The film is directed by Anne Margareth M. Nuñez from a screenplay by was also her, Emma Dudley and Micah Gunnell and an original story by Barry Schwartz and Tim Hedrick. Produced by Movie Land Animation Studios, the film stars Manish Dayal, Sean Hayes, Matt Rogers, KiKi Layne, Ella Purnell, Jack Black, Brett Tucker and Renée Elise Goldsberry.
Noodle and Bun premiered in Manila Film Center on June 20, 2026, and was theatrically released in the United States on June 3, 2022, by The Remakians via its Movie Land Animation Studios label. The film received widespread praise from critics, who praised it for its visual effects, animation, meta-commentary, humor, similarity to Disney's Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers, and voice acting, particularly Manish Dayal, Sean Hayes, and Matt Rogers. It was a big financial success and sets several box-office records, after earning $576.8 million worldwide on a $90 million budget.

Principal photography commenced on March 16, 2021 in Los Angeles with Larry Fong as cinematographer.
Visual effects and animation[]
Visual effects for the film and computer animation services were provided by Moving Picture Company and Movie Land Digital Production Services. The production team uses computer animation and visual effects to animate Noodle, Bun and the mouse. Tony Toretto's animation were also provided by 88 Pictures and MLDPS, who animated him for Netflix's Fast & Furious Spy Racers. Despite this, Tony appears as a minor character.
Music[]
Henry Jackman, Rupert Gregson-Williams, Lorne Balfe and Tom Holkenborg are the film's composer, which was confirmed in July 2021. Sound mix and re-recordings were made by Randy Thom, David E. Fluhr and Tim Nielsen at Skywalker Sound in Marin County, California. Lady Gaga also composed the score, eventually in November 2021. The soundtrack album was released on May 27, 2022 by WaterTower Music.

Noodle and Bun premiered in Hollywood on May 20, 2022, and was released in theaters on June 3 in IMAX, 4DX, ScreenX and Dolby Cinema alongside Watcher, Benediction and Crimes of the Future.
Home media[]
The film became eligible to be made available on HBO Max and/or premium video on demand (PVOD) on August 8, 2022, 45 days after its theatrical release, under a plan announced by WarnerMedia in 2021. However, IndieWire reported shortly before that date that the merged Warner Bros. Discovery had decided to instead release Elvis solely to PVOD on August 9, with HBO Max availability likely to follow in the fall.
However, Noodle and Bun was released on DVD, Blu-ray and Ultra HD Blu-ray on September 27, 2022, by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.

Critical responses[]
On the review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, 97% of 120 critics gave the film a positive review, with an average rating of 9.64/10. On the website, the critics' consensus reads, "Noodle and Bun is exactly a great position, delivering a better movie than expected that surpasses its wildly entertaining style." Using a weighted average calculator, Metacritic assigned the film a score of 82 out of 100, based on 68 critics, indicating "universal acclaim".
