The Sarcastics Adventures of Alexa is a 2022 American computer-animated adventure comedy film directed by George Gipson, in his feature directorial debut, with a screenplay by Zack Stentz, Bethany Armstrong Johnson and Emma Dudley, and story by Stentz. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, Movie Land Animation Studios, Amblin Entertainment and Titmouse, Inc., it serves as a spin-off to the Sarcastics franchise and is set after the events of Sarcastics 3. The film stars the voices of Jamie Chung (reprising her roles as Alexa), Utkarsh Ambudkar, Diane Guerrero, Jorge Diaz and Yuri Lowenthal.

The Sarcastics Adventures of Alexa was released on February 4, 2022, by Warner Bros. Pictures, as a HBO Max original film. Like the live-action Sarcastics movies, it received critical acclaim for its animation quality, Jamie Chung's performance, humor, primary focus on the titular character and screenplay.

On October 4, 2022, the film was removed from HBO Max, while it was released on Blu-ray the same day.

The animation was outsourced to 88 Pictures, Technicolor India, CGCG Inc., and Base FX. The production team uses the animation similar to The Croods: Family Tree and The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild.

Music

Henry Jackman was returned to be the composer for the film on November 21, 2021. The soundtrack was digitally released on January 28, 2022, by WaterTower Music.

The Sarcastics Adventures of Alexa was released in the United States and Canada on HBO Max on February 4, 2022. It was rated PG by the Motion Picture Association for "some mild rude humor and action violence."

The Sarcastics Adventures of Alexa was released on DVD and Blu-ray on October 4, 2022 by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.

Reception

On the review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, 99% of 89 critics gave the film a positive review, with an average rating of 9.68/10. Using a weighted average calculator, Metacritic assigned the film a score of 82 out of 100, based on 42 critics, indicating "universal acclaim".
